The grounds of Southampton Arts Center have been reimagined as a vibrant civic garden in the heart of the village, bringing together art, architecture, landscape, and community. Inspired by the historic 1897 building designed by Grosvenor Atterbury, the landscape extends its architectural language through formal pathways, thoughtfully crafted brickwork, and a series of distinct garden spaces.
Layered perennial plantings introduce seasonal interest, biodiversity, and a sense of discovery, while inviting pathways and gathering areas accommodate everything from public exhibitions and performances to quiet moments of reflection. Once largely underused, the grounds now serve as an active public garden, reconnecting the Arts Center with the surrounding village and creating a welcoming space for the community to enjoy year-round.
